Accessibility statement

Last updated: May 4, 2026

FoodyOS is committed to making this site usable by everyone — regardless of device, assistive technology, or ability. This statement covers what we’ve done, what we know we haven’t done yet, and how to tell us if you hit a barrier.

Our commitment

We are committed to WCAG 2.2 Level AA as the international standard for accessible web content. We also align with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III as it applies to public accommodations on the web, and with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act for any work touching federal procurement.

What we’ve done

  • Skip-to-content link on every page — press Tab on any page and the first focus stop lets keyboard and screen-reader users jump past the nav.
  • Keyboard navigation — top nav, footer, region picker, and modal dialogs are fully operable with Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, and Escape. No focus traps.
  • Screen-reader-friendly forms — programmatic labels,aria-required, aria-invalid,aria-describedby, and validation errors announced via role=“alert”.
  • Reduced motion — every animation honorsprefers-reduced-motion. If your OS asks for reduced motion, the site is delivered static.
  • Per-region language — each region declares its own <html lang> (en-US, es-419, pt-BR); each blog post declares its own <article lang>.
  • Visible focus rings with WCAG-AA contrast; 4.5:1 text contrast and 3:1 non-text contrast verified at the design-token layer.
  • 44×44 minimum touch targets on buttons, links, and menu items (WCAG 2.5.8).
  • Decorative SVGs and icons are marked aria-hidden=“true”; functional icons carry accessible names.

What we know we have not done yet

Honesty layer — these are the gaps we’re tracking:

  • Stripe Terminal product photos are served from images.stripeassets.com. We provide descriptive alt text, but the underlying image content is not under our editorial control.
  • Embedded preview iframes in our template gallery inherit their own accessibility characteristics.
  • We have not yet completed a third-party WCAG audit by a certified accessibility consultancy. Planned.
  • We do not currently provide an alternative format on request (audio, braille, plain-text). Planned.

Report an access barrier

If you can’t use part of this site, email us at [email protected]. We commit to responding within 5 business days. Please include:

  • The URL where you hit the barrier.
  • A description of what you were trying to do and what happened.
  • Your browser, OS, and assistive technology, if it helps.

Legal references

This statement aligns with WCAG 2.2 (W3C) and acknowledges the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title III (42 U.S.C. § 12181 et seq.) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 U.S.C. § 794d). Where any local accessibility regulation imposes a stricter standard, we apply the higher bar.
