All-in-one vs piecing it together: what does your stack really cost?
How the math works
The calculator sums two things on the “piecing it together” side: the monthly subscription on each separate tool you toggle on, plus the payment-processing cost on your card volume. A separate bundled-payments POS resells its own processing margin, so that side pays the vendor’s published platform rate. FoodyOS bundles every module into one flat $149/mo and runs on your own Stripe account at the standard 2.9% + 30¢ — so the FoodyOS side only ever pays Stripe.
Set your orders per month and average ticket to drive the processing delta, and toggle each tool to see how the stacked bill grows. When you exclude the separate POS, both sides pay the same Stripe rate and only the point-tool subscriptions move the comparison.
What the flat $149 actually replaces
The single FoodyOS plan covers POS, your branded website with online ordering (three templates, custom-domain ready), loyalty with Apple Wallet passes, kitchen display (KDS), reservations and waitlist, and in-house delivery dispatch — the same capabilities you’d otherwise license from several separate vendors. Online checkout on your storefront runs on Stripe — customers pay by card at checkout, you connect your own Stripe account, and payouts settle directly from Stripe to your bank at Stripe’s published rates with no resold markup. FoodyOS never sits in the money flow, and there’s no per-order commission on direct orders. In-restaurant card payments also run through your existing terminal.
Receipts and kitchen tickets print to any ESC/POS thermal printer through two free apps — the FoodyOS iOS app and the FoodyOS Android app — installed on an iPhone, iPad, or Android tablet at the counter or in the kitchen, connecting to your printer over Bluetooth or your local network. ESC/POS thermal printing covers receipts and kitchen tickets — it is not fiscal printing.
Frequently asked questions
What does 'piecing it together' actually cost a restaurant?
Most operators don't run one tool — they run a POS plus a website builder, a loyalty app, a kitchen-display app, and a reservations platform, each on its own subscription. Stacked together, the separate-tool bill routinely lands well north of FoodyOS's flat $149/mo, before you count the processing margin a bundled-payments POS resells back to you.
Is the $149/mo really everything?
Yes. The US FoodyOS plan is one flat $149 per restaurant, per month, month-to-month. It includes POS, your branded website + online ordering, loyalty with Apple Wallet passes, kitchen display (KDS), reservations + waitlist, and in-house delivery dispatch. There's no per-module add-on invoice and no per-order commission on direct orders.
Why does the calculator add a processing difference?
Bundled-payments POS systems like Toast, Square, and Clover make much of their margin by reselling payment processing — so part of every card swipe is platform markup. FoodyOS runs on your own Stripe account at Stripe's standard 2.9% + 30¢ and never sits in the money flow. When you include a separate bundled POS in the stack, the calculator charges that side its published processing rate; FoodyOS uses Stripe's rate. If you exclude the POS, both sides pay the same Stripe rate and processing cancels out.
Where do the separate-tool prices come from?
Every separate-tool price is the vendor's own published rate for a single full-service location, verified May 2026, and each line on the page links to the source. The POS bundle figures match the sourced numbers on /us/compare. We don't quote a number we can't link to.
Can FoodyOS print to my kitchen and run loyalty passes?
Yes. FoodyOS prints receipts and kitchen tickets to any ESC/POS thermal printer (Star Micronics, Bixolon, generic ESC/POS) through two free apps — the FoodyOS iOS app and the FoodyOS Android app — installed on an iPhone, iPad, or Android tablet at the counter or in the kitchen. The app connects to your printer over Bluetooth or your local network, and both apps are free and included with FoodyOS. Loyalty passes live in Apple Wallet, with balances and points updating automatically via push and reward-ready push notifications — and the pass is tenant-customizable with your colors, logo, and barcode.
