Your loyalty program lives in Apple Wallet.
How an Apple Wallet loyalty pass works
A loyalty pass is a store card in Apple Wallet — the same kind of pass airlines and retailers use for boarding passes and store cards. Apple’s PassKit framework lets the pass carry a live balance, and FoodyOS updates that balance over the air through the PassKit web service. The customer scans a barcode in store or orders online, the points tick up, and the pass reflects it — without anyone opening an app.
Setting it up — start to first reward
Customer joins your program
At checkout, on your ordering site, or over WhatsApp, the customer opts into your loyalty program. It's phone-indexed — there's no account to create and no password to remember.
The pass drops into Apple Wallet
One tap adds a branded loyalty pass to Apple Wallet on the customer's iPhone — your logo, your colors, and a scannable barcode for in-store visits. No separate app to download.
Points update over the air via push
Every order updates the point balance on the pass automatically using Apple's PassKit web service. The customer never has to open or refresh anything — the new balance is just there.
A reward-ready notification hits the lock screen
When the customer earns a reward, the pass pushes a notification to their iPhone lock screen — pulling them back in for the next visit without you paying a marketplace for the re-order.
Why this beats punch cards and a downloadable app
The cardboard punch card gets lost. The branded app gets installed by almost no one and deleted by the rest. An Apple Wallet pass sits where the customer already keeps their boarding passes and store cards, and it updates itself. That’s the difference between a loyalty program your regulars actually use and one that lives in a drawer.
And because FoodyOS takes 0% commission on direct orders, the reward-ready push that pulls a customer back is bringing them back to your ordering site — not to a marketplace that charges you 15–30% for the privilege of owning your own regular.
Loyalty is one module of the flat plan
Apple Wallet loyalty isn’t a paid add-on. It ships inside the single flat FoodyOS plan — $149/mo per restaurant, month-to-month — alongside the rest of the platform:
- POS + KDS — runs on iPads or Android tablets you already own; no proprietary hardware to buy.
- Direct online ordering — your own ordering site with 0% per-order commission.
- In-house delivery dispatch, hostess & reservations, inventory — the operational core, one login.
- ESC/POS receipt & kitchen-ticket printing — to any ESC/POS thermal printer (Star Micronics, Bixolon, Epson, generic ESC/POS).

What we ship today — and what we don’t
Loyalty passes ship for Apple Wallet on iPhone today. FoodyOS does not support Google Wallet. Online checkout on your storefront runs on Stripe: customers pay by card at checkout, you connect your own Stripe account, and payouts settle directly from Stripe to your bank at Stripe’s published rates with no resold markup — in-restaurant card payments also run through your existing terminal. Native multi-location ownership is on the roadmap; today FoodyOS is one restaurant per account.
Frequently asked questions
Does the customer need to download an app?
No. The loyalty pass lives in Apple Wallet, which ships on every iPhone. The customer adds your branded pass in one tap — there's no FoodyOS app to download and no account to create. The pass is indexed by phone number.
How do points update on the pass?
Automatically, over the air, via push. FoodyOS uses Apple's PassKit web service to update the point balance on the pass every time the customer orders. The customer doesn't open or refresh anything — the new balance appears on the pass itself, and you can push a reward-ready notification to the lock screen.
Is the loyalty pass branded to my restaurant?
Yes. The pass carries your logo, your colors, and your barcode. To the customer it reads as your loyalty program, not as a generic FoodyOS card.
Does this work on Android / Google Wallet?
Today FoodyOS ships loyalty passes for Apple Wallet on iPhone only. We do not currently support Google Wallet. If a large share of your customers are on Android, tell us in the demo so we can talk through how the in-store barcode and phone-indexed account work for them in the meantime.
What does the loyalty program cost?
Apple Wallet loyalty is included in the flat FoodyOS plan at $149/mo per restaurant — alongside POS, KDS, online ordering, in-house delivery dispatch, hostess and reservations, and inventory. There's no separate loyalty add-on fee and no per-member charge.
Do I keep my customer data?
Yes. Loyalty members are phone-indexed in your FoodyOS account and exportable any time. FoodyOS charges 0% commission on direct orders and never sits in the money flow, so the customer relationship — and the data behind it — stays yours.
